SPIRITUAL JOURNEY IN BRAZIL

July 26- August 09 
Rio de Janeiro - Ilha Grande - Petrópolis

 

Carlos would like to invite you to join him, Sheila McVay and Sylina "Two Bears" in Rio de Janeiro, the “Wonderful City,” where he grew up, and meet his Brazilian Indian brothers from the Fulni-ô tribe. Together, we will learn about and participate in their rituals and ceremonies in the heart of the Ilha Grande (the Big Island), a short two hour boat ride from Rio’s beautiful coast.

 

During our Spiritual Journey, we will get to experience the ancient art of Fulni-ô body painting and join in several different ceremonies, including sacred dances and fire circles, and learning a lot of songs together with members of the tribe.

 

We will also have the opportunity to partake in singing and drumming lessons, Sweat Lodge ceremonies, and learn about North and South American Indian spirituality.

 

There will also be yoga and meditation classes, and private healing sessions with Carlos and his native brothers will be offered throughout the Journey.

Sunday 26

  • Departure from Europe

 

Monday 27

  • airport pick up and drive to the hotel and 3 hour rest

  • visit the Tijuca forest including a lunch

  • free time and dinner

 

Tuesday 28

  • breakfast

  • visit to Corcovado statue and lunch

  • visit to Sugar Loaf

  • dinner

  • singing class with native chants

 

Wednesday 29

  • breakfast

  • visit to Prainha beach and lunch

  • dinner

  • visit Pena Branca spiritual session

 

Thursday 30

  • breakfast

  • visit to the Botanical Garden and lunch

  • free time for shopping and dinner

  • fire ceremony

 

Friday 31

  • breakfast

  • ritual with Carlos and the Fulni-o indians

  • Sweat Lodge Ceremony with lunch

  • free time and dinner

 

Saturday 1

  • breakfast

  • walk at the beach and lunch

  • meeting with the group

  • visit a Spiritual center and dinner

 

Sunday 2

  • breakfast

  • leave to the Big Island (Ilha Grande)

  • lunch and boat ride

  • arriving at Ilha Grande and dinner

 

Monday 3

  • breakfast

  • walk at the beach and to the waterfall

  • swimming and snorkeling 

  • fire ceremony with Carlos and the Fulni-o

 

Tuesday 4

  • breakfast

  • walk at the beach and to the trails

  • lunch and free time

  • rituals with Carlos and the Fulni-o

 

Wednesday 5

  • breakfast

  • leave Ilha Grande and go to the mountain city of Petropolis

  • lunch

  • free time and dinner

  • meeting with the group

 

Thursday 6

  • breakfast

  • visit to the Historical center including Cristal Palace (Palacio de Cristal), Imperial museum (Museu Imperial) e Santos Dumont's house (Casa do Santos Dumont). 

  • free time and lunch

  • fire ceremony with Carlos and the Fulni-o

 

Friday 7

  • breakfast 

  • visit to the Serra dos Orgaos national park (Parque Nacional da Serra dos Orgaos) and visit to the waterfall.

  • free time and lunch

  • meeting with the group

 

Saturday 8

  • breakfast and free time for packing

  • closing ritual with a barbecue 

  • drive to the airport
